Renogy provides high quality reasonably priced solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and other solar components. At Great Lakes RV Solar Solutions, we offer complete RV solar installation kits made from Renogy components. We have created solar packages from our years of experience that meets the electrical demands of our customers. All of our kits are designed with a base system that can handle 300 amps continuous battery power and 600 amps peak battery power. They are also designed with an inverter that can produce a maximum of 3,000 watts of power. Based on typical appliances found within RV’s, the 3,000 watt inverter has proven to be the most efficient choice. One of the key benefits of our packages is their consistent power limits, allowing for effortless expansion - simply add more solar panels or batteries without the need for additional system modifications
SOLAR SIMPLIFIED
Whether you are looking to complete the solar installation on your RV yourself, or have our technicians complete the installation, we have a solution for you. Our kits consist of only (5) primary components, the (1) control box, (2) inverter, (3) display, (4) batteries, and (5) the solar panels. In addition, we also supply all of the wiring and electrical fittings required to complete the install.
Our kits centralize all of the important electrical items at the control box, making it easier than ever to operate the solar electronics. We also mount the touchscreen display and inverter controls inside the RV, where they are most convenient to use.

We have created (3) packages from our years of experience that offer a balance of minimal, medium, and high boondocking. All of our kits are designed with a base system that can handle 300 amps continuous battery power and 600 amps peak battery power. They are also designed with an inverter that can produce a maximum of 3,000 watts of power. Based on typical appliances found within RV’s, the 3,000 watt inverter has proven to be the most efficient choice. OFF-GRID SOLAR INSTALLATION
We provide fabricated solar installation kits for off-grid applications. We provide solar kits for all kinds of applications, but we most commonly work with motorhomes and campers. We have numerous RV specific kits pre-fabricated, and we are constantly adding new kits to our catalogue. After we assess your RV, and estimate your energy demand, we can design a solar system that will work well.
Our team designs and builds solar energy systems that maximize the solar footprint of the vehicle to ensure the highest possible energy capture. In addition, our systems are designed to use the least amount of energy possible, so the battery remains charged as long as possible.
We only use high quality solar panels, inverters, and other electrical parts. Our solar systems are designed to last for many years, with little to no maintenance. Significant efforts are made on our part to take the complexity out of solar, so you can simply enjoy your RV. Our solar systems are nearly completely automated, so all you need to do is make sure you are parked in the sun!
All of our off-grid solar installations have the option for display panels that allow the user to view important solar data, such as real-time solar power produced, real-time battery charge level, days/time until battery depleted, etc. In addition, some of our high end communication centers also have nearly unlimited programming ability. This programming ability could be used to automatically start a backup generator when the lithium batteries drop too low. It may also be used to automatically turn off high power draw appliances when battery levels too low. It could even prioritize appliances based on usage! The possibilities are endless!
SOLAR REPAIR & UPGRADES
In addition to installing solar systems, we also service solar systems of all makes and models. If you are having problems with your solar system such as low or no charging, diminished solar production, diminished battery life, etc. we are happy to diagnose and repair your system. No matter how new or old, or how big or small, we can provide the resources needed to complete the repair. Many times, the controllers go years without firmware updates, or certain components are replaced, that are not compatible with older components, and the system needs to be calibrated, we carry most solar manufacture software, to perform any updates needed.
We can also provide upgrades to solar systems. If you are looking to add more solar panels, or more battery power, we can help. Or even if you want to add more hardware, such as a battery disconnect switch, so you can easily winterize your RV.
All of the solar systems we install are design to handle extremely high amounts of electrical power. Often our customers have a budget when they have their solar system installed, and they may not get quite the amount of battery or solar power at the time of the installation. Later after using their RV they are able to get a better idea of how much battery power and solar power they need. We are always available to provide any upgrades needed!
One of the most popular add-ons for solar systems, is the touchscreen display. Both Renogy and Victron manufacture excellent displays that most solar customers very much enjoy! Being able to quickly monitor your battery charge level, and energy usage, helps the user utilize their solar system to be fullest. Not to mention the sleek design really accents your RV nicely!
Renogy offers a small touchscreen display that connects to the solar charge controller, the lithium batteries, and some inverters via bluetooth. It also requires a downloadable app called DC Home. In addition to the touchscreen you may also add an ipad or other smart device to display additional info. All of the solar energy collected is logged, and may be displayed on the ipad.
