Residential Solar That Works!
Our team at Great Lakes Solar began installing off-grid solar systems for RVs, off-grid cabins, boats, etc. Due to customer demand for on-grid solar, we expanded our work to include residential solar and commercial solar. From day one, or mission was to provide solar systems that will actually work for our customers! Systems that actually provide enough electrical power to meet the demands of the user! Our off-grid RV solar systems can run for days or even week completely off-grid. Our design approach for residential solar systems remains the same. We complete a detailed evaluation of your home and electrical usage, to size the solar system appropriately. We also will determine your roof tilt, azimuth, latitude, etc to accurately determine the best possible placement and design of your solar panel array, so it will produce the maximum power.
Rooftop Grid-Tie Solar
The most cost effective method of solar installation is rooftop. Whether you have a gable roof, hip roof, shingle, standing seam steel, etc. almost always going with rooftop solar is going to be the least expensive option for you. However, it does require the roof to be in good condition prior to solar panel installation. If you have an older roof, we highly recommend it be inspected prior to proceeding with your solar installation.
Ground Mount Solar
For home owners that have significant tree cover surrounding their home, causing too much shading for roof mount solar panels, we can install a ground mount solar array. The benefit of a ground mount solar array is that we can install the solar panel at the optimal location and angle to maximize the solar energy, and give you the best bang for your buck. While ground mount solar arrays have significant benefits over rooftop solar, the cost is generally higher.
Battery Storage & Backup Power
Lithium Battery Storage Systems can be installed with new or existing solar installations. They can also be installed on homes with no solar at all, where they are used as a stand alone backup lithium battery storage system. These backup power systems can be setup for whole-home power or dedicated critical-load backup. These system can be stand alone or can be integrated with the home's backup generator.
